Innovative Micro and Nanotechnologies for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) is the new frontier of automotive technologies. In this context, the current research aims to develop nanomaterials and innovative technologies to assist the driver during the driving. This goal is pursued through multifunctional approaches based on the development and integration of innovative sensors able to monitoring multiple parameters involving key aspects for the driver. These mainly includes: (a) the driver's psycho-physiological status through the real time control of its drowsiness (the heart rate and its variability) and its sobriety level; (b) the driver's environment through the monitoring of air quality of the passenger compartment. In this Workshop a survey of the most innovative approaches for ADASs will be presented.
